Latest News on the Eclipse!

The total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024 will cross three countries, including the US, Mexico, and Canada. Over 50 million people are expected to view this eclipse.

Uvalde County lies within the path of totality for the 2024 total solar eclipse. Big celebrations are being planned, including live broadcasts so others further along the path can join in on the excitement of the moon's shadow arriving on U.S. soil.

Uvalde County is currently planning Uvalde County Stellar Fest: The Party stay tuned for details to be released!

The Great State of Texas is considered to be one of the best states for viewing due to favorable weather and is predicted to have the highest visitation along the whole path. Uvalde County, specifically, presents expansive unobstructed areas devoid of light pollution, making it a prime location for observing astronomical phenomena. Uvalde County is expected to offer one of the earliest and most remarkable viewing opportunities
