ECLIPSE ON THE GO

We are also increasing capacity to cater for large numbers who wish to come for a shorter duration. These options will include parking sites for eclipse day viewing, as well as single and double night camping options.
Options for Short Stays
Uvalde County is home to 24,000 people and is divided into two provinces, the Edwards Plateau on the north and the Costal Plain on the South. These two provinces are separated by the Balcones Fault Zone, creating a unique ecosystem with spring-fed rivers to the big trees, rare, native birds, the second largest bat population in the nation, bees, and butterflies. It is all going on in the ecological crossroads. Uvalde County offers many opportunities for a premium eclipse experience, as well as offering great vacation options too - especially for nature lovers! There really is something for everyone.

Transportation Options

Uvalde County is located in an active corridor between San Antonio and Del Rio, with multiple transportation options. Two of the longest highways in the country - US 90 and US 83 - intersect in Uvalde County. Plans are being made to prepare for vast numbers coming to view the eclipses in Uvalde County.
